Recently, I've returned to a game that I played one or two years ago and didn't finish it at the time. I went back to the game and tried to finally complete it. It's called Divinity: Original Sin. The sequel, Divinity Original Sin 2, was quite a hit when it was released a few years. Because of its reputation, I got the whole series and started from first game. However, the first game alone took me 82 hours and I still haven't beat it, let alone to start the second one.

Original Sin is fantasy RPG. The story takes place in a world where there is a type of power called source but was corrupted to cause many disasters. We play as the source hunters, sent to investigate a murder involving the use of source only to find a greater evil behind it. At the start, we can create two main characters and choose their specialties and their personality. One of my characters mainly heals and strengthens others while also being a negotiator. The other one is for some special needs, such as stealing, lock-picking and detecting traps.
After that, we can start to explore this fantasy world, which is one of the most interesting part of the game aside from fighting and quests. We are give a lot of freedom and methods for exploration. For example, become invisible to sneak into a basement or secret area to obtain a key item is something that I often use. I also let one of my characters learn a skill called “pet pel”. It allows us to talk to animals, who sometimes provide valuable information or offer us additional quests.

I like this game a lot. Although it took me a long time and I still couldn’t finish it, I had a lot of fun. Beside the things I said above, I also love the satisfaction of leveling up my characters, getting them new abilities and seeing them became stronger in battles. There are still other interesting things in the game and I couldn’t cover them all. If you have the time, I would recommend to give it a try and figure them out yourself.
