In April, I've played a game that I bought a while ago and finally decided to go over it. Child of Light.  It's not a long game. It only took me about 9 hours to beat to final boss, and the play style is not all that impressive. What is special about this game is its art style, both how it looks and how it reads.

The game resembles the looks of the fairy tale storybooks. And story itself also feels like a fairy tale. The story tells about a little princess named Aurora. She starts off an adventure with the companions she met to defeat darkness and restore light. She can even fly around with the wings like fairies.

Another thing that special about the game is how the dialogues are written. Each character or the narrator talks like poems. It's easy to see that there are rhythms and rhymes. Such as "Woods darker than night. Shadows lost of light." However, if you play the game in Chinese, you would not notice all these. It's my personal experience.

The characters in this game all have their own personalities and traits, and are very distinguishable, such as Rubella, a jester. Remember about the rhymes? Well, she is the type of person that doesn't know how to choose the right word to say. When she is about to rhyme, she just couldn't. She would say something else that is fine but doesn't rhyme. Then, another character will need to do the correction so that her words would be proper.

Another character that I like is Óengus. At first glance, he looks like a scary-looking monster. But, actually, he is one of the member of a warrior clan of glory. He once lost his honor and decided to serve Aurora to redeem himself.  As a playable character, he's powerful, too. One of his skill can attract enemies' attention to attack him only. I think this works well with his story as well as his story since he is a soldier that protect the princess.

All in all, I like the game. Of course, there are other things in the game that were well done. The music is beautiful. The design of the surrounding and the atmosphere are executed nicely together. Although the story-telling is good, I think it's too short. There are some characters that showed up in the later part of the game and didn't quite get the chance to make an impression, at least to me. I wish the game could be longer so that I can enjoy it more.
